Prayer Points

RHM, and the staff that work with us are motivated by the Christian faith to see people's lives change and to see despair, sickness and suffering be replaced by Hope, Dignity and a bright future for the millions of people in the world that struggle each day in the grip of poverty.

We also believe that when you work to overcome poverty, you have, too, to be aware of the spiritual aspect of a person as well as the physical.

If you would like to join us in prayer then we would be extremely grateful and have listed four separate areas below:

1. THE PROJECTS WE WORK WITH

Relevant Scriptures

Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter - when you see the naked, to clothe him, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood? >Isaiah 58:6-7

But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind and you will be blessed. Luke 14:13

In Particular

That God's love will help "break the chains of injustice and set the captives free"
That our work will always be of high quality and deliver true empowerment to those we seek to serve.
That those running the projects will know God's protection, grace and sustaining power in their lives
That our work will lift people out of poverty rather than creating a culture of dependency.

2. ROBIN HOOD MINISTRIES

Relevant Scriptures

The wealth of the rich is their fortified city, but poverty is the ruin of the poor. Proverbs 10:15

Give to the poor and you will have treasure in heaven. Matthew 19:21

In Particular

That awareness of Robin Hood Ministries and the work that we do will continue to increase.
That many companies and businesses will form effective partnerships with us.
That our core costs will also be covered.
That our relationships with each other, our donors, project partners and business partners will always be full of unity, transparency and understanding.

3. OUR BUSINESS PARTNERS

Relevant Scriptures

I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live. That everyone may eat and drink and find satisfaction in all his toil; this is the gift of God. Ecclesiastes 3:12-13

Doing something useful with his own hands, that he may have something to share with those in need. Ephesians 4:28

In Particular

That RHM will truly understand the needs of businesses and approach partnerships in a way that the business will truly benefit.
That each partnership meets its stated objective.
That a culture change will take place within the businesses that we work with that will have a positive effect for them.
That they will be blessed for having given in such a generous way

4. GENERAL

Please also pray as you feel led.
If you have a heart to see change in our world, the hungry fed, the naked clothed and the prisoner of poverty set free, then here are some ideas of how you could pray:
- Look at our poverty fact pages and pray over some of the items there.
- Wait before God and ask him to place a burden on your heart for a specific area that you can regularly commit yourself to pray for.
- Read Isaiah 58 and let it provoke you to pray.
